Who is responsible

First Intelligence Utility Limited, incorporated in Jersey with company number 166414, is the website operator and controller of personal information handled through this website.

Information we handle

If you submit an enquiry, we receive your name, email address, organisation if provided, and the contents of your message. We may retain subsequent correspondence needed to respond.

Technical request information, including your IP address, is processed to serve the website and protect the enquiry form from misuse. Please provide only information relevant to your enquiry and avoid including sensitive personal information or confidential documents in the initial message.

Why we use it

We use enquiry information to respond, assess relevant opportunities and manage business correspondence. We rely on our legitimate interests in handling business enquiries and maintaining a secure website, while considering your rights and reasonable expectations.

Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you personally, we may also rely on taking those steps at your request. We may retain or disclose information where necessary to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

You choose whether to contact us. The form needs your name, email address and message so that we can respond; providing an organisation is optional. An enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. We do not use website enquiries for decisions made solely by automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Who receives it

Access is limited to authorised FIU personnel and suppliers supporting website operation, enquiry delivery and our mailboxes. Professional advisers or authorities may receive information where necessary for advice, a legal obligation or a claim. We do not sell enquiry information.

When you submit the form, your information is sent directly to Formspree, which processes the enquiry, provides spam protection and emails it to the FIU team’s Microsoft 365 mailbox. Formspree also provides a submission history in the FIU account. FIU’s website server does not keep a separate enquiry database.

International processing

Formspree hosts its service in the United States. Form submissions and the technical information used to deliver and protect them are therefore processed outside Jersey, the UK and the European Economic Area. Our hosting and email suppliers may also process information internationally.

International transfers require an appropriate legal basis and safeguards under the applicable law. Formspree states that it relies on Standard Contractual Clauses as a processor; its security information (opens in a new tab) and privacy notice (opens in a new tab) describe its processing arrangements. How long we keep it

For enquiries that do not become an active project or contract, we normally delete correspondence 12 months after the last meaningful contact. Information may be kept longer where a legal obligation or dispute requires it.

For an active project or contract, retention depends on the relationship, applicable record-keeping obligations and the time needed to establish, exercise or defend claims. We review records and remove information that is no longer needed.

The same retention limit applies to submission copies we control in Formspree, or a shorter period where the service’s settings remove them sooner. Email delivery, security and backup records are also subject to the applicable suppliers’ retention arrangements.

Your rights

Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, you may request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of use or transfer of eligible information to another provider.

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us through the enquiry form or write to the registered office, marked “Data protection”.

We may need proportionate information to verify your identity before responding. These rights are subject to applicable conditions and exceptions.

Cookies and external links

FIU’s pages do not currently use advertising cookies, analytics tracking or non-essential cookies. When you submit an enquiry, Formspree may take you to a verification page to prevent spam. Its pages and verification providers may process technical information and use cookies under their own notices. Links to other external websites are also governed by those organisations’ privacy notices when you visit them.

If we introduce optional tracking, we will update this notice and provide the choices required before it is used.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice when our website or information-handling practices change. The date above identifies the latest version.
